ソロ活動40周年を迎えた高橋幸宏が、40 年前にリリースしたソロデビュー・アルバム「Saravah!」のヴォーカルパートを全 編新録し、新たにミックスダウンとマスタリングを施した「Saravah! Saravah!」をリリース。
1978 年にキングレコードから発売された「Saravah!」は、当時 26 歳だった高橋ユキヒロが YMO 前夜にソロアルバムとして初め てリリース。サディスティック・ミカ・バンドのメンバーである加藤和彦、高中正義のほか、細野晴臣、山下達郎らが参加し、さら に坂本龍一が共同プロデュース・編曲を行ったことでも知られ、今なお色あせぬ名盤として知られている。 当時のマルチ・トラックが良好な状態で保管されているのが発見されたのを機に、オケパートはそのままに、ヴォーカルパート を現在の高橋幸宏の声で再録したのが今回のアルバムだ。高橋は「40 年前の作品が、まさに、”今の自分”の作品になったと 思う」とコメントを寄せている。一流ミュージシャンが結集したジャパニーズ・シティ・ポップスを代表する名盤「Saravah!」を今の 高橋幸宏が歌いあげたファン必聴の新作となる。

Celebrating 40 years of his solo career, Yukihiro Takahashi has released "Saravah! Saravah!"—a newly re-recorded and remastered version of his solo debut album "Saravah!" from 40 years ago, with updated vocal parts.
Originally released in 1978 by King Records, "Saravah!" marked the solo debut of Yukihiro Takahashi at the age of 26, just before the formation of YMO. The album featured contributions from notable musicians such as Kazuhiko Kato and Masayoshi Takanaka from the Sadistic Mika Band, as well as Haruomi Hosono and Tatsuro Yamashita. The co-production and arrangement by Ryuichi Sakamoto also added to its enduring acclaim. The discovery of the original multi-track recordings in excellent condition prompted this project, where the instrumental parts were kept intact, and the vocal tracks were re-recorded with Takahashi’s current voice. Reflecting on the project, Takahashi commented, "I feel that this work from 40 years ago has truly become a 'work of the present me.'" This new release of the iconic Japanese city pop album "Saravah!" sung by the contemporary Yukihiro Takahashi is a must-listen for fans and a testament to the timeless quality of the original.
