After the success of bringing the Japanese label, Chill Mountain Records out of the digital realm and onto vinyl, Especial Specials continues with this raison d’etre, welcoming DJ and producer Dreems to the label with another set of limited-edition EPs.
Having co-run one of the most successful leftfield-electronic-dance entities of the last decade in Multi-Culti, promoting tours and parties across the globe, to even running the label’s own record store in Berlin, the fact that as a producer - with releases on Kompakt, Pinchy & Friends and Futureboogie - he has remained lesser known has been an anomaly. A respected DJ yet Angus Gruzman aka Dreems, his relative obscurity has been his furrow.
So here is a collection from his vaults of edits and dubs that together a show a sharp mind in play, creating a cohesive sound, a snap of what Dreems hears in others music. His remixes, revisions, and reimagining’s are diverse, a psychedelic dosed electronic meander through genres, the hypnotic energy of acid-music and the atmospheric allure of Dub, are a constant theme.
