A MASSIVE new tune for 2025, albeit routed in an 80s classic. “Falling For You” is by rising soul star from Las Vegas, Windy Karigianes. The song is composed by soul veteran Randy Hall who in the session brought in Allen McGrier, bass player for the late Motown soulstress Teena Marie who co-wrote her 1981 anthem “Square Biz”. With Windy a Teena fan with a similar voice, Georgie B has stepped in and doubled down on these connections for a record that is one part in tribute and the other a fresh modern soul groove, an original song beyond the nostalgia for a mix currently topping UK soul charts. It’s coupled with the original version.
