Hilit Kolet debuts on Rekids with ‘Hot Mess’, including remixes from the legendary Mike Dunn.
Following her remix of Terry Farley & Wade Teo’s ‘Why We Dance’, Hilit Kolet now steps up with her debut
EP for Radio Slave’s Rekids with her ‘Hot Mess’ single. In its original form, ‘Hot Mess’ is a driving track in
which Kolet masterfully incorporates marching rhythm and the iconic house vocal present throughout,
amplified with added, relentless energy in the ‘Even Hotter Mix’ of the track.
On the B-side, Chicagoan house lynchpin and fellow Defected affiliate Mike Dunn remixes Hilit Kolet’s ‘Hot
Mess’ with his signature, stylish flair. In his version, he slows down the groove, adds an earworm bassline,
and embraces the enchanting vocal of the original.
Since moving to London, Hilit Kolet has become an integral part of the city’s house scene. From slinging vinyl
at Soho’s legendary Black Market Records to regularly DJing anywhere from the most celebrated
underground clubs to fashion shows. Since her production debut in 2013, Hilit’s gone global with gigs in Ibiza
and Norway, as well as productions and remixes for Defected, Faith, Rekids, Laurent Garnier and more.
