In the previous decade, the city of Gary, the center of the American steel industry, lost half of its population, including the Jackson 5, and earned the nickname America's Murder City. In that transition, Billy Foster & Audios' joyful self-titled disco-jazz LP has gone unnoticed. Recorded under the watchful eye of Bill McQueen, Billy Foster and his band capitalize on their jazz training on the piano-fronted "Sometimes" and the pop finesse of synths on "I Need Your Love." and showcases the culmination of his musical experience.
