[Record Day limited item! ] 80's Tokyo City Pop! A miraculous private press sound source is finally discovered after 42 years!
Childhood friends from Nakano and Nerima gathered together and quietly recorded this work as a graduation project. The orthodox city pop content, which can be compared to Sugar Babe and So Nice, caught the eye of the second-hand record store staff, and in 2022, 42 years after the recording, it will be released in three formats: CD/analog record/distribution! From the groovy and mellow opening "I can't go to New York" with guitar, bass and synthesizer, the following medium funk "One Night Darling" reminds me of Tatsuro Yamashita/Paper Doll for a moment. In addition, AOR "Dim" that traces Michael Franks, which the members were listening to at the time, and the samba tune "Toroku Yume" that anticipates Taeko Onuki's "European trilogy" later. This is a work that shines! For this reissue, the excavated 8ch 1/2-inch multi-tape was produced by Fumio Miura, a core member of Presents, to produce a high-resolution sound source, and a master sound source remixed through vintage analog equipment. And the artwork has been renewed by Mr. Hiroshi Nagai. With a commentary by Hitoshi Kurimoto, the re-release of the 42nd year miracle!
