Description
The scent of fresh greenery seems to rise from the plucked strings. Country Dream is the first album by Kiyoshi Sugimoto, one of Japan's leading jazz guitarists. Since turning professional in 1960, he has been active in many sessions and recordings. From the late 1960s, he joined groups such as Hideo Shiraki, Akira Ishikawa, and Terumasa Hino, and was a talented figure who attracted attention. You can clearly feel the enthusiasm with which they are pouring everything they have cultivated up until that point into moving beyond hard bop. ``Country Dream,'' which seems to be inspired by the original Japanese landscape, ``The Apple,'' which is sharp and thrilling, and ``D-51,'' which is as exhilarating and full of dynamism as a gust of wind. This strength, this suppleness, this freshness. All the songs are masterpieces/masterpieces.
