[RECORD STORE DAY limited edition] New York-based alto saxophonist Shamek Farah's first album, which has captivated many people across eras and genres. A name with an unfamiliar sound, a mysterious jacket, and a hypnotic sound. This work is one that symbolizes Strata East, that is, one that represents independent black jazz in the 1970s. Since its reappraisal in the 1990s, its existence has continued to be special. The title song "First Impressions", which resonates with a deep sound image of a disturbing piano and a theme that seems to drift under a tight groove, is truly the ultimate. It has captivated many people across eras and genres.
