With their ninth album, George Evelyn, aka Nightmares on Wax, finally entered groove territory of their own. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with various guests, but for this work, he started by handing over his ideas to collaborators. The album features guest appearances from Shabaka Hutchings, Haile Supreme, Mara TK, Sabrina Mahfouz, Greentea Pen, Oshun, and Pip Millett. Seamlessly traversing between sophisticated electronica, smooth jazz, deft hip-hop and the unique middle ground that represents the essence of NOW, many guests add unique dynamic elements to the album. But it's Evelyn's most personal record yet, embracing a healthy lifestyle that clarifies what's been clouded by her long touring life, while also tackling her cancer scare.
