Description
[11/3 Record Day 2021 limited edition] ICE, a unit formed mainly by Kazuyuki Miyauchi (producer/guitarist) and Mayumi Kunioka (vocals), will release two titles of their first 7-inch single at the same time! Debuting in 1993, ICE had a unique presence in the J-POP scene with Miyauchi's sophisticated yet edgy sound production and Kunioka's singing voice with a unique coolness. From the 4th album "We're In The Mood" released in 1996, two songs "DRIVE" and "OVER THE RAINBOW" are the long-awaited first analog version!
"DRIVE", which was announced as a coupling song to the single "BABY MAYBE" at that time, is a killer track with a tremendously cool and groovy sound that can be said to be an answer from the Japanese side to the UK acid jazz scene. The B-side "OVER THE RAINBOW" is an emotional medium tune with plenty of homage to 70's soul music. For this 7-inch release, DJ Notoya (Tokyo Condition) was in charge of song selection/supervision, and 8ronix (bullpen lab.) was in charge of remastering.
