Led by Divine Wright, Cedric Im Brooks, the forerunner of Light of Saba, an artistic collective fusing roots reggae and Afro-jazz, captures the evolution of Jamaican mento, ska, rocksteady and roots reggae. From the Concent album "FROM MENTO TO REGGAE TO THIRD WORLD MUSIC" (1973) recorded by Randy's, the famous ska/rocksteady cover is released for the first time on 7 inches!
On side A, trombonist Roland "Numbo" Robinson's superb vocals of Alton Ellis' rocksteady masterpiece, Mikey Rath Starr's rhythm section, and Cedric Im Brooks' horn section are in perfect harmony. Includes beautiful "LET'S DO ROCK STEADY". The B-side includes a cover of Justin Hines & The Dominos' famous ska song "CARRY GO BRING COME", with Lloyd Brown's vocals and Russ drums added.
