Description
Tokyo-based DJ Sodeyama's alias The People In Fog's first new album in eight years, "1977," will be released on Sound Of Vast!
DJ Sodeyama has been a driving force behind Japan's underground electronic scene for many years. Over the past 15 years, he's released techno on labels like Nina Kraviz's трип and Dynamic Reflection, and his own label, Arpa Records. He worked on a new work focusing on his alias The People In Fog. After releasing his debut album "A Ray of Light" eight years ago, he released three EPs from the label <Sound Of Vast> established in Amsterdam, among which "Higher EP" was a smash hit. The title of the new album, 1977, refers to the birth year of the influential Chicago club Warehouse, which opens with the percussive and hypnotic openings of "South Jefferson" and "Less Is More," a jazz-inspired soundtrack. Aesthetic mixed "No Boundaries", groove-heavy dancefloor "Come To Me feat. Monkey Timers", swinging drums, meandering bass grooves and voice-heavy "Mr. Dub" Through his work, he expresses various styles of house music. The final three tracks are heavily influenced by acid house, with 303's repetitive jerky lines, ethereal pad textures, dynamic drums and addictive vocal hooks.
