Description

Arranged by Kiyoshi Yamaya from the Japanese compilation "Japanese A to Z presents GROOVY Japanese SUMMIT COLUMBIA RARE GROOVE SELECTION" supervised by Yoshizawa dynamite.jp and DJ CHINTAM (BLOW UP) released in March 2019. 7 inch cut of Japanese classic. Side A includes Yoshizawa dynamite.jp's re-edited version of "Soma Nareyama" from the 1976 LP "Shakuhachi Yama no Uta". A funky backing that pays homage to Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" and the traditional melody of the shakuhachi. The tempo has been slightly increased, a new drum break is added as an interlude, and some claps that are not in the original song are added. In addition to this, the bass range and beat are three-dimensionally strengthened to amplify the groove, creating a floor-use finish. The B-side includes ``Hanagasa Ondo,'' an upbeat jazz-funk arrangement from the LP ``Shakuhachi Sato no Uta'' released in 1976. A 16-beat hi-hat, an accentuated bottom groove, a vibraphone tone reminiscent of Billy Wooten, and a sharp shakuhachi melody that cuts through the space. This is a gem of a Japanese rare groove number that has everything arranged in an exquisite balance. All songs were arranged by Kiyoshi Yamaya, who has been reevaluated as an arranger popular among overseas diggers, with Kiyoshi Sugimoto (Gt), Ayumi Koizumi (Bass), Kazuyoshi Okayama (Drums), Isao Kanayama (VB). ), Keisuke Egusa (Pf) and other notable members participated. This is a masterpiece of traditional Japanese rare groove that has been discovered in recent years.
