Archie Shep, a free jazz saxophonist who follows in the footsteps of John Coltrane and also feels the influence of African music. "Attica Blues," a bloody, exciting black big band funk fueled by gospelish female vocals, is a jazz-funk classic that shook the acid jazz scene with its remake by Galliano. "QuietDawn" is a mellow spiritual jazz that sounds like it was played in a paradise, with magical girl vocals by Cal Massey's daughter Waida! A perfect coupling that can be hard and soft and drink both clear and cloudy!
