Description
Paris-based Alan Briand, also known as Shelter, releases a 12-inch release from Is It Balearic?'s Über label, following his Turkish ethno-balearic ``Talisman'' from Mellah, France! Opening with the ambient electronica A1 "Sailing On A Black Sea", which has an impressive deep reverb feeling as if it were wrapped in a haze, it uses mallets, various percussion, and flutes to create a fantastical atmosphere that makes you feel like you are inside a mirage. After the Balearica work A2 "Sad Beach", the hypnotic ethno-chill B1 "Through The Desert Land" using the mouth harp, and the B2 "Seaport Theme" reminiscent of the coast - departure, the sound of waves and the sequence of xylophone & kalimba are polyphonic. A collection of exquisite soundscapes and Balearic sounds expressing the scenery of travel, including the rhythmically dancing nautical theme "Water Plain"! Recommended!
